A lot of students in Belgium mainly use a bicycle. Fortunately, there are no great mountains in the country, but be aware that there may be thieves ! It is best to lock your bike all the time and everywhere.
Thomas More offers students the option of renting a regular bike or a folding bike for €7 per month.

Mechelen is a Dutch-speaking city in Belgium, located in the Flemish Region.
With its narrow streets and numerous listed buildings, this UNESCO-listed city has preserved many monuments that testify to its importance in the past centuries. For example, it has three town halls, also called aldermen’s houses.

Belgium is divided into three communitie : one for each of the official languages – Dutch, French and German.
Each has its own government and the responsibility for education lies with the communities.

Accommodation
All of the campuses have student accommodations. Please note that you are not guaranteed to be granted an accommodation on campus.
Students can however rent a room in a private house or share an apartment with other students.
The rental price for a furnished student room differs from city to city, with an average of € 300 / month.
Studios or apartments are more expensive.
Costs for water, electricity and heating are usually not included in the price.
